We love books and kids! At the Lakeview Community Library we are thrilled to have kids of all ages visit us and spend time enjoying the many activities our Children’s Library has to offer. We’re a kid friendly environment and nothing makes us happier than to hear them laughing, talking, playing, exploring, and learning at the library.
In addition to our regularly scheduled programs, there are lots of other ways to enjoy, explore, and learn at the library. Check it out!
Children’s Exploratory
Open during regular library hours
Our Children’s Exploratory contains a variety of interactive and educational toys and self- guided activities.
The current theme is "STEAM Lab". Check back often!
Discovery Packs
The library offers a variety of “Discovery Packs” which contain themed books + educational items. Packs can be checked out for 4 weeks! Find out more about the available kits on the Monarch Catalog.
Road to Reading: 1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Sharing books strengthens a child’s foundation for learning and makes them more ready for school.
The concept of the program is simple: read a book, any book, to your newborn, infant and/or toddler. The goal is to read 1,000 books before your child starts kindergarten (and yes, you can repeat books). Sign up can be done at anytime at the library.
